Recent Candidate Forums
There have been a number of Candidate Forums already.
On August 4, the Beechwood Neighborhood Association hosted a candidate forum at the Ryan Center on Webster Avenue.
On August 22, Threshold hosted a forum. Bishop Christopher Tillman posted many pictures to Facebook, and added a couple of comments to some of them. Here is my favorite picture, along with a quote (to be clear, he hasn’t endorsed my candidacy):
Incumbent Candidate Willa Powell may have arrived late for the Threshold Youth Peer Leaders School Board Candidate Forum but her answers appeared to be spot on!
Lori Thomas covered the Threshold Candidate Forum in a series of blog posts: Part I, Part II, Part III, Part IV.
On August 27, Flower City Parents Network. Again, courtesy of Bishop Tillman’s Facebook page, this photo came with the caption:
Willa Powell at the Candidates Forum at Brendan and Patricia Kierkendall’s home on Dorcester Rd stated ” Compassion, competence and moral courage…out of these three I would want to be remembered for my competence…” more on Willa Powell in the next issue of the Minority Reporter Newspaper.”
(A correction to this quote may be in order: I believe the forum was held at the home of Brendan and Patricia Gallivan. Santosha Kuykendall co-hosted.)
We’ll post a link to his article when it becomes available, but look for it in this Flower City Parents Network forum.
The most recent forum was on August 30, hosted by the Center for Disability Rights. A full transcript of the forum is now available on their website. My questionnaire response has not been posted yet. In the meantime, look at my questionnaire submission in “The Issues” section of this website (rightmost column) or click her for a PDF version.
